Hi,
i have a air console 2 xl with Firmware Version 2.50 shipped.
If i try to upgrade to the latest version 2.55 i get always a error message.
ERROR: Cannot mount USB drive
I tryed 3 different USB Dumps (8GB, 8GB and 4GB Sized) and formated each with Linux by mkdosfs and at the next try by WinXP.
My last try was to reset the airconsole to factory defaults, but i get the same failure.
Firmware Version : 2.50 (2014-10-21 build 544)
Hardware Version : A-01
Host Name : AirConsole-CE
Operating Mode : Bridge
Bridge IP : 192.168.10.1
DNS Servers :
At least i have no idea to solve this problem.
Thanks Frank

Re: Update Firmware to 2.55 at air console 2 XL
The most common reasons that you get this error are that
- the file system wasn't created on the first partition on the USB stick
- the file system is not FAT
You can check that the partition is indeed the first on the drive by plugging into your PC and checking that Linux detects the partition as /dev/sdX1 - be aware that some USB sticks have vendor supplied hidden partitions on them (use a different stick).

Re: Update Firmware to 2.55 at air console 2 XL
Hi Daniel,
Before i posted my request to the Form, i checked for topics with the same content.
I used tree different USB dumps and on each i checked that there is only one partition /dev/sdX1 and i firmarted Dach stick one time with Linux and one time by Windows. The only file in the Stück was the Firmware.
So i think this is not the Problem.
Habe anyone tested that upgrade from 2.50 to 2.55 by success?
Greetings frank

You could try telnetting into the Airconsole (user/pass is same as your web one) and seeing if the disk appears under /dev as /dev/sda1 when plugging it in? If so, you could try mounting it manually?
Re: Update Firmware to 2.55 at air console 2 XL
Hi,
@daniel thanks for your note.
I successfully connect via telnet to the device.
The device isnt creating a mountpoint.
I cant find any usefull log (no dmesg, message or syslog).
Any Idea?
Thanks Frank

Re: Update Firmware to 2.55 at air console 2 XL
There is no demise or syslog because of the limited storage on the Airconsole
If there is no /dev/sdX being created then the operating system isn't detecting your USB device. Can you try a different device? And are you sure that your USB port is working (e.g. does the serial cable still work?)
