pasting scripts

i see there are some options for entering one line command shortcuts but to really make this app stand out it needs the option of being able to drop scripts into the screen of long commands or multiple line commands that are common eg.

You can paste in long configurations using the "files" feature - or simply by creating a text script in the clipboard viewer and then using the paste button to push it into the terminal window. We use the files feature to create configuration templates for routers and switches and then access them from files section in the app, copy them to the clipboard then make minor edits and paste to terminal.

One way to get your config templates or snippets into the Get Console app is to sign up and login at www.get-console.com - once you are logged in you can see the config scripts button to upload your own to our cloud service. Then if you enter your get-console.com username(email) and password into the Get Console app settings you'll be able to see all your scripts stored in this cloud repository and pull them down to your iPad / iPhone etc.

The pasting "slowly" into a serial port feature has been taking a while to get going, as we don't want it when pasting into Telnet or SSH sessions. We are still working on it, but it has been deferred to v1.9x

We have 1 possibly 2 more v1.8x releases to come out first, - v1.82 is going to Apple next week and does make some improvements to the clipboard and text file management.

Just an update on Pasting speed and buffer overflows - the version 1.82 due in App store any day now has a new feature that limits the speed in which contents of the Clipboard (or scratchpads - another new 1.82 feature) are fed into the terminal window. There are 3 speed options (Fast, Medium, Slow) - the default is fast, which in our testing lets you paste in an 800 line configuration file into a cisco @ 57600 baud without corruption. If you are pasting in on 9600 baud then setting to medium will probably be better. This setting is changed in the main application settings under Terminal Settings->Advanced.
