Thanks for your suggestion. The "Run DHCP server if in DHCP Client mode, but DHCP Client fails" - sounds like a good idea but we have to consider all the possible ramifications of that option. The last thing we want is to become a DHCP server on an existing network and conflict with corporate DHCP servers. Maybe only for DHCP clients located on the Airconsole-XX SSID/WIFI interface that would be ok. Will have a play.

As I have said in my feature request, If you support IPv6 and zeroconf, you would not need a dhcp server. IPv6 link local addresses are always assigned.
With this, you can always connect to your air-console, and these days any OS / tablet etc supports ipv6.
