In the web settings under LAN there is an option to select "no default route" which should maintain your devices 3G network. This dosen't seem to work for Android devices. The 3G is turned off so that web access is disabled and only the Air Console network is active. Is there a work around to this?
Thanks

Re: No Default Route on an Andorid deice
Hi Merkas,
The Airconsole or SerialBot is not turning off your Android 3G. The no default route tick box means that the Airconsole will not send a default router address in the DHCP offer message, this means that if there is another default route to the internet on your Android device then it should be able to use it as it will be the Only default available to the phone/tablet. It works in our testing on a Galaxy S3 running 4.1, but haven't experimented with other versions of Android.

Hi Simon,
I connect to the Airconsole with a Droid 4 phone running Andoird 4.1.2 .
If I go into the Wi-Fi settings and look at the gateway it shows ::1 .
If I try to browse the internet I get page can not be found until I disconnect from the Airconsole.
Thanks

Re: No Default Route on an Andorid deice
Actually we have looked at this again and appears to be different (worse) on later versions (4.3) of Android - they want to disconnect from the Airconsole WIFI if it does not provide access to the internet. The workaround to have both access to Airconsole and internet at same time on Android will be to make Airconsole tether to Android phone. this appears to be the only way now to make Android routing work properly between WIFI and 3G. AP Client function is needed therefore on Airconsole which is in v2.0. V2.0 will be released (finally) late next week.
Re: No Default Route on an Andorid deice
Just wanted to say thanks for update the firmware (2.03) with the AP Client mode. This has solved the issues of not having internet access while connected to the Air Console.
Thanks
Thanks

We've also updated the user guide in 2.03 on the website that has a section on how to do concurrent WIFI and 3G/4G on Android - it uses the tether feature. Download the updated user guide from the resources section on right hand side of http://www.get-console.com/airconsole
