As I have said in my feature request, If you support IPv6 and zeroconf, you would not need a dhcp server. IPv6 link local addresses are always assigned.
With this, you can always connect to your air-console, and these days any OS / tablet etc supports ipv6.

A couple of things I would like to see: 1) IPv6 support. Specifically fe80 link local , so I can not set an ipv4 address on the air console, but still connect to it. 2) zeroconf networking . Together with the above, so I can auto discover the air-console on its IPv6 address 3) Very basic USB storage...
